Excellent!
His opinion of me:
"As poorly qualified as I am to create a world in which solipsism, immoralism, and Lysenkoism are all but forgotten, I hope you will bear with me while I begin this sincere and earnest attempt. And please don't get mad with me if, in doing so, I must improve the living conditions of the most vulnerable in our society -- the sick, the old, the disabled, the unemployed, and our youth -- all of whose lives are made miserable by Whiskeydan. In the rest of this letter, I will use history and science (in the Hegelian sense) to prove that Whiskeydan's latest "revelation" (really, hallucination) is that principles don't matter. Just because I understand his beliefs (as I would certainly not call them logically reasoned arguments) doesn't mean I agree with them. His peons often reverse the normal process of interpretation. That is, they value the unsaid over the said, the obscure over the clear. Although Whiskeydan won't admit it, every time he tries, Whiskeydan gets increasingly successful in his attempts to weave his daft traits, narrow-minded obiter dicta, and detestable manuscripts into a rich tapestry that is sure to enthrone falsehood in the very center of human thought. This dangerous trend means not only death for free thought, but for imagination as well. Whiskeydan's claim of fairness is demonstrably false. (Actually, we have a right, an indisputable, inalienable, indefeasible, divine right to take a strong position on Whiskeydan's rantings, which, after all, replace law and order with anarchy and despotism, but that's not important now.) I'll give you an example of this, based on my own experience. As you know, Whiskeydan wants to drag men out of their beds in the dead of night and castrate them. It gets better: He actually believes that flagitious tin-pot tyrants and judgmental, dim-witted slackers should rule this country. I guess no one's ever told him that griping about Whiskeydan will not make him stop trying to bring ugliness and nastiness into our lives. But even if it did, he would just find some other way to destroy the values, methods, and goals of traditional humanistic study. Whiskeydan's platitudes cannot stand on their own merit. That's why they're dependent on elaborate artifices and explanatory stories to convince us that diseases can be defeated not through standard medical research but through the creation of a new language, one that does not stigmatize certain groups and behaviors. We don't have to stand for this! The end." |

Well, I knew it was coming. In fact, I predicted it quite a long time ago when I said that Infraction would attack the fabric of this nation. And now that it has, we must certainly confront and reject all manifestations of recidivism. With this letter, I hope to expose the connections between the unrestrained, deceitful problems that face us and the key issues of hedonism and nativism. But first, I would like to make the following introductory remark: If Infraction had even a shred of intellectual integrity, it'd admit that it yields to the mammalian desire to assert individuality by attracting attention. Unfortunately, for Infraction, "attract attention" usually implies "deprive individuals of the right to bring meaning, direction, and purpose into our lives".
I call upon Infraction to stop its oppression, lies, immorality, and debauchery. I call upon it to be an organization of manners, principles, honour, and purity. And finally, I call upon it to forgo its desire to destabilize society. The greatest quote I ever heard goes something like this: "I sometimes have to bite my tongue pretty hard to avoid saying what I really feel about Infraction." This makes me fearful that I might someday find myself in the crosshairs of Infraction's depraved, disreputable causeries. (To be honest, though, it wouldn't be the first time.) It would be bad enough if Infraction's emissaries were merely trying to trade facts for fantasy, truth for myths, academics for collective socialization, and individual thinking for group manipulation. But their attempts to toy with our opinions are just plain noxious. This is far from all I have to say on the topic, but it's certainly enough for now. Just remember one thing: This is a fundamental and obvious truth that Infraction entirely ignores. This will do...
