Anyone have a BMW 328i?

Thinking about getting a demo for the wife, 2007.

Anyone on the board have any experience with this particular model year?

For an entry level car, it is loaded with goodies and handles well, with pretty good pick-up with that in-line 6cyl.

Any thoughts appreciated.

My other half has had one for four months and haven't really spent a great deal of time behind the wheel. Great Car, runs nice, feels safe at higher speeds. My only cons would be the run flat tires (her idea) compromise the good ride - the back seat is to small for adults. As you know the car has lots of gadgetry and I find the array of warning alarms to be a bit annoying, that's just me though.

My uncle leases a lot of the new BMW's, never really has any problems.

If it has run flat tires they suck.

I'm wary of BMW V8's, but the venerable BMW inline 6 is hard to beat.

Wary of the V8? Bah. The need for smooth cylinder bores that hold a decent amount of compression is highly overrated.

V12 is the way to go.

If my wife didn't have a hankering for a small SUV (ala Honda CRV), I'd dump my tap-tap-tap 740i for an '00- '01 750iL. Black/black with the sport package. Yeah baby...

edit: Ooops. not the "tap, tap, tap" in the Senatorial sense. Actual metallic tapping.

How often do they change it for free? I like how once they started this free maintenance program the oil change intervals went up

He has had it changes twice since getting it new.

He said the first change was around 6-7k miles, and the last one was in February. He got an X5 loaner.... Man, did we beat the crap outta that thing!

Both changes so far were free..... At the last oil change, they did the brakes... New pads, rotors, and fluid flushed.... The dealer said the brake fluid was toast... Might have been from the numerous autocrosses he does....

He blew up a trannie one afternoon at an autocross, and BMW replaced it under warranty, free....

16K miles, blown tranny, toast brake fluid, and nothing has gone wrong with it? Haha
