Exclamation Ever had a truck driveshaft fly into your W124?!? Look!

Check out this video that hit CNN today, some guy in MA driving down the freeway behind a truck got a u-joint + part of the driveshaft in his face through the window of his W124 after the shaft blew apart!

http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/us/2008/04/29/quiroga.ma.hit.by.driveshaft.wcvb

Insanity. He lived!

That guy needs to buy some lottery tickets.

He seems like a really calm person.

I bet they will find the truck was poorly maintained....

I hope he repairs and keeps driving his "lucky" car...

All it needs is: Windshield....dash....and a good detailing.

Must be one of those unsafe trucks visiting here from the Great White North that was let in by NAFTA......lots of debate in the West to what extent our Southern neighbors should be allowed access.

That wasnt much damage......I got hit by a semi-truck spare tire that came out from under a trailer at 65mph....that did do some damage.

Right on , you know there had to be a bunch a noise and/or vibration before it blew, unless someone forgot to tighten some fasteners when shaft was last out for service.

I vote for poor upkeep....

Yes, that is sad, but I'll bet he'll become a better, more financially capable, person after it's all said and done...

Actually kind of happened to me in my old SD. driveshaft fell out of the truck i was following, luckily it didn't fly up into the windsheild but it did destroy the oil pan and puge a huge rip/dent in the spare tire well. Scary stuff,
