I just stopped off at the auto parts store on the way home to pick up a car cover and looked lovingly at the Cherry Bombs and Flowmasters . . . .

Really? What mufflers does she have on hers?

The floorpans in the backseat are rusted through. I noticed it when I stepped in the back on Sunday and looked at them from underneath when it was up on the rack getting inspected. There is undercoating covering it on the bottom, but I think there's a lot of rust under it.

Find a set of euro headers, and run some nice straight stainless pipes back to a set of Flowmasters, or maybe a Borla. Don't forget to X them, so it doesn't sound like crap.

Normally rust and rot isn't a concern in Nor Cal, but it was, for some reason, on my father's 1964 Ford Falcon, which was always parked in the driveway with a lot of wet leaves around.

He was a clever German engineer. He crawled underneath and patched it all up forever with roofing tar. Fixed the problem for as long as he had the car.
