I'm not up too much on Audis...is that one a rear-engineered unit? That black piping/striping looks to be an air-dam of some sort.

Is it?

One of those was behind me recently, it has a row of funky LED lights under the headlights which ruins the look for me. But I guess a lot of other people think its cool. I heard there are plans to put a V8 in it.

I didn't know that those came with the ability to freely park in fire lanes. I might have to get one.

Make sure you have enough cash for a big tip too. I'll bet the valet does not let that parking spot go cheap.

I don't go out much, but leaving a good tip is never a problem.

I wonder how much it would cost to paint that hideous rear panel, so it matched the rest of the car.

The R8 does have the V8.

They are planning to do a V12 TDI, but the only thing holding it back is finding a light weight 6 Speed manual that will cope with the massive torque.

Thanks for the correction, I could not recall the details. A V12 TDI would make this a truly impressive ride. Also I think you can order the car with a color matched side panel but not sure if I have that correct either.

The large expanse of black grill doesn't look right on a super car. Nor does the big black panel on the side. I think it also needs a little "kicker" in the rear so the lines don't fall off so dramatically.

That said, I would still drive it!

Anyone remember that Godfather-esque superbowl ad of the R8? That was a pretty good one.

I have never noticed that black panel on the side, it is really an eyesore. Plus who would get such a boring color on such a dynamic looking car.

Top Gear test drove it - Clarkson fell in love with it. (can't say I didn't)
