How Was Your Weekend?
Mine was pretty stellar. The weather was great so I washed and clay bared then waxed the new SL.

WOW, I cannot wait to see it!
I bet it is fantastic! Me, I was running between NY and WV with more stuff from my move. On a good note I took the 'new' SDL on a run to NY and back and got 28mpg! |

I had a great weekend. Got the garden planted, lawn mowed, and 20 feet of floor to ceiling shelving built in my garage.
I guess that is why I had a tough time getting out of bed this morning! j |
Pretty good weekend-- at least Saturday.
My wife and I are now looking to buy a house and we think we've found the one for us! Now it's just a matter of the loan and the problem of selling our condo..... how the heck is that suposed to work??? Find a house but tell the seller that they have to wait for us to sell our place? Ugh. Sunday was not so much fun because it was spent in the bathroom getting ready for a colonoscopy that I had this morning. Whew! Everything's okay in the pipeline. :) |
Usual weekend --
We had a dreary warm rain on Saturday morning; I liked it since I didn't have anyplace special to go.
By ten it was just drizzling, so I headed out to buy some new running shoes and a couple more things. Saturday evening, Miss Linda and I went to our favorite local Mexican restaurant. Sunday dawned cool and fresh (very unusual here in The Swamp in May, lemme tellya), so I washed the big Buick and dolled up the tires after Miss Linda dragged me to Mall-Wart. Then we went around to a local coffee shop, a short walk. That afternoon, finished some detailing on the car while listening to "Car Talk." A lot of my weekends are just like this one, only without the cool freshness. |
Mine was great -- got the EGR and flapper valve mods done on the 300D, and installed a different style wastegate actuator as well. All's well so far; seems to be working well! I also am starting to get my legs back and got in a nice, solid 8-mile run yesterday afternoon. I'd like to be ready for a fall marathon.

Not too shabby. My oldest had his first Little League game Saturday at 11 so I headed right up there from work at noon. He played a great game and kept his emotions in check (which is a big deal for him, first at bat he struck out and there weren't any helmets or batting gloves flying :o). This was after we had a big talk with him about watching his behavior because it really was the reason he didn't make the jump from National to American league. The ironic part was that a father from the other team got into a heated argument with one of our coaches regarding balls and strikes calls (a team's coach plays ump while his team is in the field). It got to the point where the L.L. Pres. & V.P. were called and came flying to the scene to diffuse it. The rest of the afternoon was spent mowing and trimming the front yard and throwing some seed down.
Son # 2 was supposed to have his Challenger League game late Sunday morning but it rained heavily overnight so the field wasn't anywhere near playable condition even though it cleared right up after about 10:00 (due to safety concerns for kids with stability issues they won't play if there's puddling or if the ground is really soft and wet). That left the day open to finally replacing the backboard on the basketball hoop that blew over during the last big storm we had. It was a clear plexi backboard that just shattered. My wife spotted a rounded one at a tag sale for $5 and snatched it up so #1 and I spent and hour adapting and modifying it to fit the old mount. I would have liked to have found a direct replacement but it's been awhile since it blew over and the Mrs. was pretty proud of the fact that she found that hoop so up it went. The rest of the day was spent clearing some brush and overgrowth, a little brush mowing and mowing the back 40 so the kids could play without having to fight there way through the hay. I REALLY need to get my garden going. Part of the problem is I don't know where I'm going to put it yet. I haven't been in a huge hurry yet since the CT River is real high due to the snow melt up north and we invariably end up having frost warnings until the river subsides. |

Terrible! my car smoked on start-up!!

Mine was good: My #3's soccer team won the U-16 Div 1 state championship. 1-0 with an overtime!

She worked both days and I worked on Sat. On Sun while she worked, I ripped out the turbo from the truck and stuck in a new one. The Marmon Clamp was such a b1tch that I found words and combinations that could blister paint on the walls. Even yesterday night, I was hurting from all the lying down in contorted stances.
So, it wasn't that good a weekend since I didn't get laid. |
Mine was great!
Took a 900 mile road trip in the SD to visit a great friend and go to a Dave Ramsey live event. Well worth it! |

Friday night, went to the Isle of Capri Casino in Marquette, IA.. Won $875 on roulette...left while that was feeling really good... :D
Got up Saturday, pestered a few folks on-line, went out and went through a tube of paper towels working on the windows inside "Fausta" - then vaccuumed out the insides...didn't fire her up for the day...just wanted to clean her...then took a nap 'til about 1700...got up and headed out to a movie the wifey was interested in seeing..."HAROLD & KUMAR - ESCAPE FROM GITMO" - Recomendation? Go to the box office, shoot the manager and take all the money...I can't get this thing out of my head!!! It's like "CHEECH & CHONG" - Only more inane...if that's possible...It's worse than "ISHTAR" - Is this what passes for entertainment for the kids today? Then, last night, while scanning the channels, I run across the show "EXTRA" and they're pumping the "H&K-EFG" movie - none of the "X" crap but they're talking up the chick that was, supposedly, K's previous GF. And they "HIGH-light" the fact that the film was shot in Amsterdam. "WELL, DUH - WHAT DO THEY DO (giggle-giggle) FOR FUN IN AMSTERDAM??" The wifey isn't picking movies out anymore...even she thought it sucked... Am I just turning into a curmudgeon, or what? ;) |
