What's so amazing about rich people shopping at Walmart? You're just not around that many people with lot's of money.

Where I live here in Care Free Arizona i'm surrounded by the super rich! I always see Ferrari's and Lambo's at the Target I shop at. Range Rover's, Range Rover Sport's, Maserati's, 911 Porsche's. I have seen a MB S65 parked next to a MB SL65! The poor people around here drive the 3 and 5 series BMW's and the C and E class Mercedes, as well as some of the cheaper Jag's.

We all shop at AJ's gourmet grocery store, but... we all buy our liquor at Fry's grocery Store. We're not stupid!

I'll tell you what is amazing about rich people shopping at Wal-Mart. It is the same thing that is amazing about rich people shopping for necessities anywhere.

Do you recall George Bush (41) at the check-out lane, saying how amazing the scanners were? There is a reason that he hadn't seen these things every week of his life -- someone else buys his groceries.

Driving an expensive car doesn't make you rich. In fact, it may force you to shop at Wal-Mart.

Maybe it was the mechanic taking it out for a test drive, and he needed something from there.
Then again, if your last name ends in Walton, you would probably shop for a few things there (after you made sure that you bought the Rolls for the least possible price).

You don't get rich and stay rich by buying without haggling it down as far as possible.

Yeah if I could afford that life style I would gladly pay someone a few bucks to shop for me and free up some time.

Shopping is a waste of time, if you spend 2 hours a week in the store thats 104 hours a year. So you lose 2 work weeks a year.

Not Bashas?

Since it wasn't a chaffeur driven Rolls, what's suprising?

+++++

Two great RR stories

Until recently, RR did not publish any "horsepower" specifications. When an inquiry was made as to the output of the engine, the response was generally along the lines of "Enough."

A South African physican's RR suffered a broken rear axle on an primitive road. The car was towed to a mechanics shop and the part was ordered. RR sent the part via air and it was replaced. After waiting to be invoiced, the doctor contacted the South African agent for RR and explained that he wanted to settle the bill. The agent told the doctor, "You must be mistake, Roll Royce axles do not break."

There are plenty of wealthy people around here. Fairfax County, VA is one of the wealthiest counties in the US. I see a lot more Rolls, Bentleys, Ferraris, Lamborginis (Truckinik must shop around here), etc. over near Tyson's Corner and in McLean at the Neiman Marcus, Saks, etc, than I do at Costco. The rest of us more pedestrian, middle class types drive MBs, Porsches, Audis, etc. and shop at Safeway and target.

Around here it seems that it's not enough to have an expensive car. You have to spend extravagantly everyWHERE and on everyTHING to maintain the impression that youre something special. . . .

We buy our liquor at the ABC store in Virginia, rich and poor alike. When it comes to liquor, Virginia is very egalitarian.
