Any farmers out there?
I have a 1925 White Showers hydraulically operated yard sprinkler. I doubt that anyone out there has ever seen one. I need two 2" to 2 1/8" dia. leather sucker washers, the kind used in windmills or hand operated water pumps. Anyone have a source for these?

I've made such things before, long ago. At the time, I assumed that everybody just made them on demand.

I bought them years ago from a hardware store in Beeville, Tx. but they don't handle them anymore. These washers are cupped with about a 3/4" lip and quite hard.

I found these - might want to give them a call tomorrow, and see if they can help you further.
http://members.tripod.com/leather_cup_washer/ Whoops! Might want to scratch that...... I mis-read - they are in India ..... NOT Indiana sorry - but maybe you can get some from them anyway?

Thanks Larry, but that company is in India and I doubt that they would send me just 2 washers. I have located another co. and will try them tomorrow. Tks.

Do they look like the ones shown on this page?
http://www.mclendons.com/item.asp?sku=10345472 or this one? http://www.mclendons.com/item.asp?sku=10345474&from=search This place, although in the UK, mentions that measurements should be taken from the metal work. http://www.copperwasher.co.uk/leather.html

They look like the second link but with out a hole in the center. Before I have had to drill the size hole I need in the center.
This site has what I need. Check at the bottom under 'solid centers'. http://www.do-it-yourself-pumps.com/cylinder_cups.htm |

Kip,
Try these guys. http://www.mniguide.com/info.asp?CID=1273455 I needed leather washers for my hand pump a few years ago and they were able to provide what I needed. They are located on the fringe of legendary downtown East St. Louis. Some personal advice, if they have what you need, don't go get it. Have them send it to you. Good luck, Tom OOPS. Sorry I just re-read the whole post, you found some already.

I found the washers at both Hatcher Water Well 1-361-358-8550 or Dean Bennett Supply 1-800-621-4291.
