Which is why "knock off" wheels were ruled illegal for street use back in 1968...and why aftermarket products have the disclaimer "for "off-road" use only!
The '67 Corvette actually had REAL knock off wheels back then, and GM had to discontinue offering them for the same reason...illegal! |

i believe what became outlawed were the knock-off nuts with spinners.my 66 chevelle came with 3 bar wirewheel covers.same with 67 but in 68 that same wheelcover got a round center cap.i had heard at one time it was done because of dogs that liked to chase cars.but always had my doubts about that theory.

My '73 MGB also had knock offs. I think I still have the soft lead mallet, too.

Oh, XKE's had those. They look good on older cars, but you just look like .50 cent with them on your Navigator.
