Cell Phone Advice

I am fed up with my broken Razr, and need a new phone. I am looking at possibly getting a Blackberry Pearl. Anyone have much experience with them? I am through Verizon, and it looks like the basic plan for one is $79 a month though, which is slightly more than what I want to spend. What I really want is an iPhone, but would have to switch over to AT&T, and it would eat up all of my $600 economic stimulus payment. However I would be only spending $59 a month on the basic plan.

get the iphone, wouldn't it be cheaper than the blackberry in the long run. Over one year you save 120 dollars just because of the plane. Over two years that is 240 dollars. Get the iphone it is better anyways.

Almost any phone with those kinds of features and services will eat up all your economic stimulus loan.

Get the blackberry. I had the iPhone, and the Blackberry is superior compared to the iPhone. The fact that you can use 3rd party apps to make it do what you want it to do is what makes me a Blackberry user.

That and Blackberry Messenger.

If you do get the Blackberry, my pin is 23FE997A...

How about the LG enV? a coworker is telling me that is a good phone as well. The main thing I am looking for is a phone that will last me at least 2 years, which is something my Razr has failed to do.

Razrs work well in an office environment, when you can just tuck it into your pants pocket and forget about it until you need it. It sounds as if you need something strudier, which does not describe any blackberry that I'm aware of. I would ditch the flip-phone style entirely and pick up a one-piece Nokia.

What is a good model that Nokia makes now, I had my old Nokia for like 4 years with no problems.

I've had my Razor for 2 years now with Verizon. Well technically had this one only for a year as I dropped the first one in the toilet.. I walked into the bathroom at home and side-swiped the vanity with my hip where it was clipped and it went sailing into the CLEAN toilet lol. Got my new one thru the insurance next day and it's been fine as well. Dropped them both hundreds of times but then again, I have it in the belt clip/case which does a great job protecting it banging around cars & lifts in the shop all day. I'm up for my "New Every Two" with Verizon now and I really don't know what phone to switch to, if at all. I may just let that NE2 sit on my account til I do something dumb with this one and really need a new phone.....

If you want a good durable and rugged phone, go for a Motorola V188 flip phone! It has no camera and other glitz, but it is the most durable hard clamshell phone I've ever used!

I refuse to pay much money for a cell phone because its a waste. I pay $50 a month for Verizon and I get a free phone every two years.

I'd buy the cheapest possible phone and make it work until you can get a free one when you renew your contract.

Dang, my Blackberry is the sturdiest phone I ever had.

It survived a drop from the 2nd floor of my house and being run over by my car. It has also survived a few months in college.

I rarely beg to differ with you Paul but were miles apart on this one. Blackberrys are IMO the toughest phone around...they don't break.

What? You dropped your phone from 2 stories up and it got run over? Well, I cant beat that one! I like the clamshell because when it's in my pocket, it cant accidentally bump something and start dialing!
