Fired a pistol for the first time today...

Lots of fun. It was an S&W MP.45.

The .45 is kind of a big pistol round, putting one on target isn't terrible hard, but putting 3-4 on target would be. I could tell from firing it you really would need to practice a lot to be able to fire them off real fast.

Lots of fun, just remember to keep your finger off the triggar so you don't shoot yourself!

I should have taken a picture of my grouping it was tight enough to kill someone. Out of 10 in the first clip 9 hit the target, 2 in the red center and the rest pretty damn close.

Big pistols are a lot of fun. Back in the day, when my closest neighbor was almost a mile away, my friend used to bring over his 44 magnum. What a beast that thing was. I bagged several small trees with it. Now I live in horse country. Horsey people really hate guns, so I don't get a chance to shoot anymore.

My Browning Hi Power 9mm is a nice medium size pistol. Single action, reliable, safe to carry, etc.

The .45 is too big for me to grip, even with a single stack magazine.

Does this mean the peace sign is now just a pile of spent cartridges?

I liked it. A pistol gives you power and options, its a lot of rock n role in your hands.

Apparantly from this shooting range you cant rent MP5's, thats next on the list.

I want to get a desert Eagle .50AE, so I can shoot it inside and be a jerk!

You popped your handgun cherry with a .45? That's a nice sized round. Now, go out and fire something like a Desert Eagle .50 with one hand and you'll think the .45 is a pop gun!

Let him try a .44 +P one handed. He'll have a dent in his forehead.....

Yeah, in a revolver... The D-E action takes all the kick out of the big cartridges...

I'm a big guy and I actualy liked the .45. If I came down on the target I didn't have a problem, the kick back wasn't really that bad. If I wanted to run through a clip in like 5 seconds and hit something that would take a lot of practice! You really need to practice with a .45 to be able to put a lot of rounds on target well.

The full sized .45 felt good, I checked out a compact S&W .40 and it felt kind of small.

I'd buy a Desert Eagle, thats a mans gun, it will put some hair on your chest!

Yep, lasted about 15 minutes.

The Desert Eagle is an "ego gun" as far as I'm concerned... It's fun to shoot and looks good in the movies but I have yet to see a practical use for it...

As far as shooting fast, you pretty much have to have the gun set up for it with porting and whatnot.

Oh yeah its totaly useless, but its so cool who cares!

Thats a massive freaken round! The range had a few 5 gallon buckets full of spent casses and there were a few .50 BMG rounds in them. Wow you get hit by that and its taking your arm or head! Body armour won't matter with that mosnter!
