TX 2008 Show & Shine

This is the first one I went too and I was pretty impressed. Last year only 39 cars showed up, this year I think it was 55 or so that showed up. Here are some pics for your enjoyment.

Very nice - I love seeing pics like those. Is this the Dallas showing? I really wanted to go to that, but it was way too last minute for me (I have small kids). Maybe next year I can swing it - there were certainly some cars there worth looking at.

Yea, it was at Park Place in Dallas.

There was a good turn out. Apparently better than expected. The only thing that kind of ticked me off was the way they did the popular vote. You could buy as many tickets for $1 as you wanted and stick it in the canister in front of each car. The guy next to me in a black 190 SL bought about 20 tickets and just dumped them all in his bucket (guess who won 1st place). I know the money was a for a good cause but if someone wants a prize that bad, they have stores that sell them and you can have them put anything you want on it. I think it goes against the spirit of the thing. There were a few canisters that looked very full.

And yes I'm piss off becasue I did not win anything Damn thing was rigged I tell you... RIGGED.

So who's the loser here? Clearly the idiot who had to win. In the scheme of things, it's hardly a big deal who wins anyway.

This is fast becoming my favorite MB model ever. Just beautiful. Those whitewalls put it over the top.

I know that technically it was not a big deal who won. I know that my life will go on. It still bugs me.

My favorites are:

300 SEL 6.3 It was not in good condition but I just love the shape and the presence

The 190SL was in excelent shape. The color combo presents far better in person than on line and it strikes me as a great PCH cruiser.

Then of course there is the bad ass mo-fo part of me that just wants to put the hammer down and go really really fast
