It's amazing but I don't think I'd call it a hybrid since it runs purely on electricity. Diesel-electric locomotives aren't called hybrids.

A few comments down, is a fellow, who claims that Porsche came up with a similar hybrid a few years earlier, while working for Lohner.

Your right its not a true hybrid. Actualy its more like a Chevy Volt than a Prius.
