"See Paris and Live" -- old slogan?
(No, this is not about Miss Hilton.)
One of the "Man from U.N.C.L.E." episodes is named "The See-Paris-and-Die Affair," and I was wondering if there was an ad campaign of the time (early 60s) that used something like "See Paris and Live!" that this title played on. Or is that a saying attributed to the French? Or do they actually say "See Paris and die," because (to patriotic Frenchmen) once you've seen it you apparently have nothing else to live for? Inquiring minds, etc.! .

Naples vs. Paris
Carleton, it could be. I first Googled up Henry Watterson's autobiography "Marse Henry" (1919), which contains exactly that reference in Part 2: "'See Naples and die,'" say the Italians. 'See Paris and live,' say the French."
