I don't see any rotor failure.

I see a pilot who got a bit nervous as the aircraft touched down and, for whatever reason, pulled the cyclic a bit too much and the aircraft lifted and rolled.

John will correct me if I'm wrong..........

Unless there is a platform it never touched down, plus the jeep in full reverse is an indication that something is very very wrong with the video.

The appearance of the helo is it did hit something and got hung up...then the pilot corrected..it broke loose....and all hell broke loose. Google Heliswiss Ka-32A and I bet there is an explaination.

To me, it looked like it was down and bouncing on the skids..........the side to side motion at the end (prior to liftoff) seems to indicate this.

I found a linky earlier but can't find it, it took place in Frankfort IIRC.

FWIW, That's a Eurocopter AS350. A Ka-32 is really different.

According to the report, it slipped off the landing platform when touching down.

I can never seem to get Ebaum videos to work properly. I have a slo-mo video I personally shot of a guy loosing control of a Brantly shortly after takeoff in a brisk wind. Lukily they got back on the ground safely with no damage other than perhaps, to their underwear...

I should post it on youtube but I'm behind the times...

Hard to fly them.

I tried to fly a little model heliopter with lifelike remote controls at the Science Museum in London.

It was impossible, so many things to control at once, it crashed on me time after time....

The guy on the blue planes ladder in the background is most impressive; didn't look around until most of the pieces had already flown by.

That was my first observation as well. My wife defended a mower mfg. in a case where a blade sheared off and traveled 1/4 mile and decapitated a lady in a car (which she wrecked, killing all four children inside) I bet those helo blades could travel some distance with bad consequences as well.

He was just being smart. If he'd looked around he might have lost an eye.
