Funny, isn't that what Zune owners are? ;)

Considering the Ipod has been around quite a bit longer......

Car drivers were once the vast minority compared to those on horseback.....

Other than the edge in aftermarket goodies/accessories, theres no advantage to the Ipod, and the Zune is gaining rapidly in that department.

One thing that put me over the edge is the surprisingly strong radio tuner in the Zune. However DO NOT buy a 1st Gen 30gig model, the 2nd gen has all the bugs worked out.

To make it harder -- or perhaps easier, Rhapsody just launched its
DRM-free MP3 store. I know the iPod touch depends on iTunes, and I could easily import any MP3 into it to load onto the device, but I tend to agree that the second generation Zunes are very competitive with the iPod.

So my choices are: Ease and flexibility with music (Zune); or sheer sexiness and wi-fi/email/web capability (iPod Touch).

I would avoid the Zune just because it's made by Microsoft.

You can now get DRM free music from Itunes store....

The sweetest part about the iPod touch is the full html web browser. Does the zune have a FULL html web browser?

The ability to check email and voicemail (via web) without my computer is a big selling point in iPod's favor.

No it does not. I guess I just don't understand the need to have a full browser on my MP3 player. I've got a Desktop, Laptop, and a Cell phone that can all connect to the internet. How connected does an individual really need to be?

Its nice when I am at a coffee shop, and can grab my ipod and surf shop forum while i am waiting. Or like when I was in the Philippines, and didn't have my laptop with me, but needed to followup on some stuff online.

I have Blackberry that can access the internet, but the browser is pathetic compared to the one on my ipod touch.

Very well said. I have a Touch that I picked up second-hand for $100, and it's some of the best money I have ever spent. I can check email outside the US on any open WiFi signal, of which there are many now. My phone (and thus its browser) does not work outside the US (and I don't want to pay triple my monthly bill for that "feature" as I'd VERY rarely use it).

Furthermore, aside from one glitch with a "hold" switch which I easily bypassed, I have never had a lick of trouble from any of the 5 iPods I have owned. I replaced the battery in one of them, but that's to be expected and was very easy to do.

With that siad, in about a week, I am going to have a 3G iPhone...

Lucky...

I'm on Sprint, because they cut me a helluva deal, else I'd have an iPhone as well. Gotta love 'em. Sell OP your iPod Touch!

My dads already claimed it..... He likes the album view.

That, and he loves the layout of the email.

Bill Gates is the Anti-Christ. Buy the IPOD Touch.

The Apple mobile browser (mini-Safari?) needs a few more extensions (Flash anyone? macromedia) to make it a killer mobile app.

I'd buy a iPhone or iPod touch anytime if it weren't for the fact that they only support iTunes, which is equal to computer rape. The programs interface is quite nice, but the way it deals with your files, "organizes" your already organized music libraries into a horrible mess, is disgusting. And apparently the default bitrate settings for iTunes when ripping CDs to mp3s is 128kbit/s, which is the mp3-equivalent of watching mute black and white movies today.
The hardware is really cutting edge and super nice, but iTunes ruins it all for me. It's such a lousy piece of software I have no words for it, yet I could go on with this post for hours.
