issues with recent repair job

well, that tire I had patched is still leaking air. i am going to bring it in tomorrow morning, bring my paper work they gave me, and ask for them to fix it right this time or buy me a new set of tires.

Just wondering why they would owe you a new "set" of tires if they only repaired one ? Maybe you picked up a nail since they fixed it .

Ask them to patch it from the inside instead of plugging it.

TD- just ask for the one tire to be redone if there isn't a new leak some where.

Maybe that leak was contagious and the other tires caught it, too . . . .

Preferred repair for a tire is a plug/patch combo or one piece unit. Looks like a little umbrella pulled thru from the inside out.

Just because their attempt to repair the leak didn't work doesn't mean they did anything wrong. Some leaks can't be fixed.

Even if they screwed up the repair, why would they owe you a new set of tires? At most they should refund whatever they charged you for the failed repair.

It never helps your situation to go in to a shop pissed off and demand free stuff.

Just tell them it is still losing air and have them recheck the repaired spot. It is possible there was a 2nd leak and/or you may have picked up some road debris since the repair.

We just plug tires where I'm at and after all the ones i've done (including many on my own tires) I've only had one start leaking again, and this was of course, after 20,000 miles since it had been repaired.

I went in, showed them my paper work and asked them to fix it again. Rolled it in, rolled it out. Apparently the last guy that did it missed the plug in the tire that was losing air... I was told these tires had no plugs other than one I was shown.

I am going to pull the wheel off tomorrow and inspect it for a plug. Regardless they fixed it without issue.



I am probably due for some new tires so I will probably just get new wheels/tires at the same time like my buddy does. I am getting tired of the 8 hole wheels

time to step it up to 16's

That is surprising. I figured if it was ever going to leak it would right away.
