At our age all points are given for being ambulatory, none for style.

Today I am eighty years old. Nate, you and Tom are about the most impressive guys on the site to me.

Nate fights genetic pre disposition big time in children. I have never really considered if it can be really overcome. It perhaps is the component that actually differentiates each of us from each other. This is a real factor with foster children.

Far too many children enter the system with pathetic existing genetic inherited tendencies. There is really not much can be done about it

I ran across one last weekend who was at the cottage with his mother. On top of everything else he had the largest chip on his shoulder I may have ever seen. My guess is whatever he inherited from his fathers genes is so bad I would not like to meet the father. Who is long gone of course.

Tom is somewhat like me I suspect. A better person hopefully but also like me seems to keep his plate loaded. I am having some trouble with reducing my loading. I do not want to totally retire but I do want less to do.

At the same time i feel very fortunate that age so far has been pretty kind to me. Physically I am still in decent condition. Mentally my self judgement is subjective.

So far so good is about the only self evaluation I can muster. Specifically my mild temperment is still intact.

Although I was a little concerned the other day when I forgot exactly where i parked a car in a very large mall lot. Then I remembered I had the same issue decades ago.

Nate may be the luckiest guy I have ever run across. Starting life on his own at age eight is remarkable. That he even survived it would not be expected.

The general time period the three of us have lived through so far unfortunatly in many ways is history.

The challenges I faced are dwarfed by Nate's.

I do like to stay busy but my mental coping abilities are starting to feel weaker. So I have a dozen projects going but they are much simpler and smaller than I used to do.

You have made a good life for yourself too Barry...congratulations!

Thumbs up HAPPY BIRTHDAY BARRY !!!!!!!!!!!!

This is quite the milestone .

My Sweet will be 80 this September .

Don't be too impressed, some here think I don't know how to adjust roller bearings..... .

I'm baffled that I'm still alive too .

There must be a bigger plan out there .

Demarkis and I went out today, he needed a hair cut, I went hog wild and had them cut all of them .

I'll prolly get a haircut Friday next, of late I've been getting a #2 because short hair is easier to maintain .

Shirley says I can't get a #1 because it makes me look like a serial killer, Demarkis agrees .

As long as it hides the dent in my skull it's all good .

We're all of us still moving along, that's good .

I have some dents in my skull also from being dumb and reckless when I was young. The hairline is slowly moving down to the reveal.

The Mrs. started a new job working as a teacher's aid in a "Learning difficulty" classroom.
Every year around the time they start school, since she retired, she gets all jonesed up to go back to work. I tried to talk her out of it but she decided to do it. I hope she is up to it.

Thumbs up TEACHERS !

Wow , my hat's off to her, please tell her Nate says THANK YOU because Teachers are as important as Cops and Firemen ~ if people supported Teachers like they do Cops & Firemen, we'd need less Cops & Firemen....

Talk about a tough job, I'd rather go back to mucking out stables .

I was thinking about the many Teachers I've had and known over the decades this morning as I was in traffic....

The bad ones need to be weeded out and the good ones need more support .

Smile The Nationals

It seems to me the only luck you need will be mechanical in nature....

Well we got here with no problems. Today we ran the car a bit on the test and tune course. Ben Martinez (one of the best in C M class) came over to check out our car. He talked about it with us for at least 10 minutes. I was most flattered. He is a very fit looking 63.

Today am in Florida panhandle at Navarre beach camping with a fantastic lot overlooking the water. It is hot and humid. I might need to turn on the air shortly.

Did you have both knees replaced? As I mentioned somewhere, I had my right knee replaced on September 20 last year. At about five month mark now. It’s not been a walk in the park NPI.

I’ve spent a lot of mental energy wishing I hadn’t done it. Things are finally smoothing out a bit, it may not be a horrible decision after all. And I remind myself of the many times I didn’t even want to put my tools away my knee hurt so bad.

But it’s not all perfect. It strikes me that there’s still a lot of learning going on regarding the best type of physical therapy. Lots of difference of opinion on that.
