How to say thanks to a SA?
So I took my car to the dealer for repair. The car is a ’92 E class with about 100K miles. I've been a customer at this shop for about 10 years. One of the goals was to troubleshoot an odd squeal that the car makes, another was to check some sluggish behavior for the transmission, the other was to resolve some issues related to when the engine is cold, and the other was to begin the process of identifying where some leaks originate. They ended up fixing a problem on the transmission, they think they know where the squeal is coming from, they cleaned the engine (to permit finding the leaks), and did a 15,000 mile tune-up. They had the car for a month. They are charging me for parts and 1 hour of labor. I have another car so was not bothered by the extended wait time. So what is an appropriate "thank you" to the SA? I was thinking of a $100 gift certificate for one of the area’s nicer restaurants. Is this reasonable or perhaps unnecessary? |

1 hour + parts...sounds like you got a friend in the industry.
Your token of appreciation is a great example, and insurance of future good service.

$200 gift certificate to Vilamoura in Sandton Centre would be a nice gift. That would be a very nice dinner for two, perhaps with wine.
