slightly off topic - big parts cross the pond - possible
howdy mates :
have been off for quite a while - not much Merc work for me these day hoping to attract some eyes from the Continent . just returned from Suisseland - had the idea of returning to Europe - either Germany or Nederland to scout some parts - transmissions and engines how will I ship these back to the US ? Anyone know of a sea freight company who will accept small items - maybe small shipping containers - ? cheers Ya : |
I had a hard time finding a junkyard in Germany, that had older parts. It may in fact be such, that they are importing engines and tranny's from us.
Try a country where the environmental protection hasn't caught up with Germany's. |
I don't know about Germany, but when I was in Italy, one thing that caught my attention was the complete lack of old cars. I don't think I saw a single one. Hard to believe a junk yard could stay in business there. I have to think the US is king for junk yards.
