Those are the battles that have no awards for...I guess there are awards sometimes but hopefully something that a shot will take care of.

Big day for me it was! Not only for the obvious, but it was the day I reported to my ship.
After a night of drinking at least I didn't drop my seabag overboard climbing up the gangway.
Fortunately, the only thing I took away from that interlude was the memory.
Sick Bay had a cure, but I think you got restricted to the ship for 30 days as NJP for that kind of thing. But I never had to find that out.

Varied by captain, I guess. On my ship the captain liked his boys pure in heart and soul. A venereal disease was an admission of guilt. 30 days + forfeiture of some proportion of pay, IIRC. Glad I never got nuthin.

There was a whole squad of marines that all got the clap from the same entertainment center -- all got hard duty -- worked in the engineroom with us snipes. We're like, "I work here for a living and the marines call it hard duty? Crap!"

Watch out for camels?

What I find most interesting here is that the woman is being charged but we haven't heard a damn thing about the man involved. I guess in Muslim nations any sin is clearly the fault of the woman.

Say, has anyone ever been to the Dubai? some of the pictures of it are literally jaw dropping. Is it much of a tourist destinatiion, once you've seen all the buildings and construction?

I have a friend that is there now, serving in the USAF. Loves it. I post more when he/I get back in a few weeks and I can ask him details (not about his duty, of course).
