Geek n' Nerd Time: Favorite Space Battles

Hello Geeks and Nerds!

My most recent and favorite show with cool space battles is Battlestar Galactica.

I especially like this scene with the Battlestar Pegasus:

Very cool!

What is your favorite show/movie with cool space battle scenes?

Not a space battle, but you gotta love the final battle scene from Starship Troopers.

Talking Five of the best

Kirk on the Enterprise vs. Khan on the Reliant, in "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan."

Right behind it, though, are Kirk & Co. vs. the cloaked Romulan ship in "Balance of Terror"; and Enterprise vs. the Klingon ship at the climax of the otherwise terrible story "Elaan of Troyius."

Oh, and Enterprise vs. "The Doomsday Machine." ("I shall be forced to relieve you [on the grounds you are insane], Commodore." "You're bluffing." "Vulcans never bluff." And after a measuring glance at Spock: "No. No, I don't suppose that they do. . . .")

However, if we're talking outside movies/TV, the climax of Larry Niven & Jerry Pournelle's alien-invasion novel Footfall stands as the champ.

Got to go with the B5 Episode where there is a battle going on and Delen come in on her ship and says something to the effect of if you want him you get to go through me first. I don't remember the specifics but I remember thinking I'd want her on my side in a scuffle.

BTW, if anyone knows what episode that was in I would really like to see it again.

Thanks

That was an amazing sequence I saw it when it first aired and I'm still in awe over the fact that they sacrificed the ship. Here is another version with a more original sound-track and the Pegasus dishing out some pain http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7190U2_pp0&feature=related

Also here is one of my favorite battles from Stargate:Atlantis
