I see no reason to disbelieve him unless the article was bogus. What does he have to gain by lying?

Wouldn't that be amazing. To find out we are really not alone. I think it might make the world a better place. .

When you consider the number of galaxies in the universe (at least 100's of billions) and each having 100's of billions of stars, and each star probably having at least some planets orbiting around it, and the general abundance of organic matter in the universe, it's just about impossible that we are alone. Still one day if and when it's confirmed we're not alone it will be as exciting as it will be chilling. Think about how much technological progress we've made in just 100 years. Now imagine there's an alien civilization somewhere that could be millions of years ahead of us in technology.

I wouldn't be surprised if they do have a concept of a creator. when looking at the complexity of the universe it is only natural to think of a creator. if you believe in one or not that is another discussion, but it wouldn't surprise me if a totally alien intelligents would have that concept.

I agree that there is life out there, although whether it can travel, I don't know. And, even if it can, who says it has any idea that we exist? Heck, we just discovered a tribe in the amazon a few months ago that has never seen the outside world!
Personally, I would prefer that we didn't get involved with any other life forms, just because the odds of it being "amazing for our society" in every possible way are pretty slim. Although, I am not a fan of big changes, so it could just be me

I actually wonder if skeptical people would believe it even if the aliens landed and shook hands with them. There are many many "explanations" that can be thought up.
I personally know several people who had very close UFO sightings that simply could not have been conventional craft or any of the "explanations" that people use to debunk UFO sightings. I am talking about -- 1) seeing in vivid detail several very visible craft perform all sorts of maneuvers at incredible speeds over a long period of time. 2) clearly seeing a craft from directly below, hovering silently above at a low altitude, seeing lights and details on the bottom of the craft Well, could they be experimental govt air craft? Maybe, but if that is the case, then judging by what these craft were able to do, we already have the ability to travel in and out of space to great distances at will and we just aren't being told about it. Which unlikely scenario is more likely? You chose! I've never seen one personally, but the two people I am describing saw these things very clearly and would not lie to me.
