Apparently you didn't notice Don Cornelius' girth as he hosted the later episodes!

Noticed at about 1:08 (the slo-mo dancing couple), I detected the face of the male partner, Jeffrey Daniels, a Soul Train regular who eventually joined up with the then-disco group "Shalamar". Not in the video, but Jody Whatley was the female vocalist for the same group, and was also a Soul Train regular.

I enjoyed the show.

I lived outside the cable viewing area and few Black artists on the radio except for the mainstream stuff. Didn't live around many black people either, so I was socially stunted when I did try to fit in the culture.

Watched Soul Train to gather up the latest dance moves...didn't matter though...by the time I was of age to hit the clubs, disco was pretty well entrenched...

I loved that show, I used to watch it every Saturday...once upon a time, when gas was 25 cents a gallon.
