My Brother's New Toy

Obsidian Black 2009 C63. He ordered it from Westmont in Chicago and it's being shipped to Seattle tomorrow.

Big bro has me from 0-60, but I should be able to spank him in the 1/4 mile.

The feller in the background is a family friend who facilitated the deal and also owns a CLK63 Black Series.

It's okay if I hate you and your brother and friend out of envy, isn't it?

When I read the original post, my first thought was "Wow, that's a nice car!"

However, it also almost immediately occured to me that if I wanted to spend that kind of coin on a car, I could put together a manual climate controlled, manual sunroof, crank windowed, five speed manual, turbo 617-powered 123 that would get better mileage, be easier to work on, and probably last longer, and still spend thousands less.

Different strokes for different folks.

Yep, whatever floats your boat.

If I bought a C63, it would be hitting the track one a month -- driving schools etc. That's were it shines...

Dayumm, I saw one today at the gas station on 57th(?) and Penn. Sort of a dark metallic color. Very slick.

Those C63s are something else. I drove one, and jeebus its mind boggling how fast something that small can be.

Get the Renntech ECU/TCU and he won't beat you at any acceleration tests.

Yes, one of these days. Otoh-- I have my eye on an E63, but it's pretty pricey.

Let us know what you think. My brother bought his w/o a test drive. He relied on Blake's (the Black Series owner) opinion.
