I hate the X-mas

Ohhh yes my most hated time of year is just around the corner, why might you ask do I hate this holiday (or you might not even care). Nothing goes right everything just goes to crap, case in point this year my wife and I had to buy all new appliances and got turned down for a credit card to the store so we had to pay for it all right then and there. Now my wife still wants to travel 6 hours to michigan and still buy her family Christmas presents! not listening to a single word I say about us being on a very tight budget. HUM BUG HUM BUG I SAY!!!!!

Well –

You’re not more in debt, owing on all the new appliances at Lord knows what %.
(If you got turned down, you’re probably already in debt up to your eye balls anyway.)

You get to spend the holidays with family. Which is more than a lot of folks can do this season.

Don’t go crazy on the gifts. If the family knows you just shelled out for the appliances, they should understand.

So did you plan on going further in debt for the appliances, and spending your cash that should be going toward your debt on presents?

Pinch on the family presents and make a big payment toward the debt. Call that a big gift for the both of you.

Most of all...Be Happy !!

Merry Christmas !!

My family is just doing Secret Santa this year, so everyone only has to get one gift. Things are a lot tighter for most people this year and it can always get worse so it's a good thing to consider.

I wish I could get away with that!

My Mrs buys for everyone except herself. I enjoy buying for her only because she loves it so much....its actually quite difficult....and this year doubly so cause she said I couldn't buy her any of my mainstay...jewelry!

Drat!

I invariably tell my wife, daughter and friends{amazing,I know...but I have a few}that I want nothing at all both for Christmas and my birthday.Occasions which only serve to remind me of another year passed with many accomplishments, dreams and some regrets, also an enregistrate memento mori that recalls another span alloted to me is past, yet I have much to be thankful for.

The best gifts come from the heart......something created from within. I have some neighbors across the hall with kids and I give them a baby sitting coupon for a night out. I pet sit for friends this time of year, these gifts don't cost a lot- just your time.

It's fun to give gifts to people you love and for whom you know what to get without asking. It's great to see the smiles on their faces when they open them.

In the past I have wasted too much time trying to please people who are unpleasable even though they gave me detailed lists of what they wanted, etc., only to have them get mad at me if I left somethig off the list. Life is way too short for stuff like that. I'm happy to have someone in my life now that appreciates my efforts.

I hope everybody else is as fortunate as I am in this respect.

Time: Your most precious asset.

Dropped $5.00 in a Salvation Army bucket last night at the Mall. Couldn't get away from the young girl's thanks and stories of desperate needs locally.

Think of others.

Talking Ching, ching, ching

I work in a big department at my university, and it would be hopeless for me to buy gifts for everybody. Not a few of them give me gifts -- a bottle of nice champagne (which I pass on to someone who drinks), cat toys, etc.

This year, I got some decaf green tea and two Japanese-style mugs for one of the two ladies who run other departments in this building, and a $20 gift card to Petco for the other. Miss Linda's getting this: http://www.therefinedfeline.com/kitinbox-cat-perch.htm

As for myself, I'll probably get the car's windows tinted. Maybe I'll take a overnight trip to the Gulf Coast or send my Rolex Sub in for servicing. It's weird, but I don't want much (or maybe I just don't want to spend my money on much).
