I'm really loving these temperature swings in Texas. Yesterday - 76 degrees in Arlington/ Right now - 31 degrees, windy and intermittent sleet/freezing rain. When I went to bed around 11pm, it was still 68 degrees and the wind just started picking up. When I got up at 5am, it was 28 outside and the apartment was frigid. Set the thermostat to 69 degrees at 5:05 am and the heat didn't turn off until I left at 6:10. 75 again by Thursday.

It was 75 degrees in Colorado on Friday. Today it was 17 degrees below zero F. Half the school buses in Denver wouldn't start because their diesel fuel had gelled.

Hey Swede...I carry a small drink-straw in the pocket of my jacket...if the key goes in (almost) or won't turn, I jam the straw in the slot and slowly force the air into the lock for as long as I can (without passing out!!!) and in either two or three tries, I get the lock unfrozen and I'm in the car/truck.

No need for lighters and burnt fingers...

Thanks. I tried that and lock de-icer. No dice. It's just too cold right now. It's mainly because of yesterday's freezing rain, not just the extreme cold. It'll have to wait a few more days.
