Are exterion vehicle hinges secure?
Are vehicle door hinges that are accessible outside the vehicle secure from tampering? Seems to me you can go up to a full size van with swing out side and rear doors, press out the hinge pins and gain access to the interior. Is there something in the design of the hinges that keeps them intact in when the doors are closed even if the pin is removed?
If modern exterior hinges are secure, are they secure on pre-war cars or even VW Beetles? Sixto 87 300D |
I think the pin is secured after installation but it is nothing that a side grinder won't make short work of.

If someone is going to go to all that trouble and time to gain access, they will just break a window and get in,,, much quicker and easier.

CJs are famous, or infamous for having their doors stolen by just pulling the hinge pins.

I think a thief would opt for the window.
