satelitte tv experts
is there any difference between dishs.i want satelite for my camper but refuse to pay them 50 bucks a month when i only need it 4-5 months a year.well a co-worker has dishnetwork and has an extra box.i said i would pay them the monthly rental on that extra box to use it for said 4-5 months.i have since picked up an rca dish(singal cable) and a dss dish(double cable) but can't seem to get a signal from the satelitte.i guess my questions are just how precise do i have to have my satelitte dish to recieve signals and do i need a dishnetwork dish to recieve said signal.i found a website which gave me coordinates for my location and i figure i'm pretty damn close, but still nothing.any help would be appreciated.

What model Dish Net receiver do you have? Any more you need a Dish 500 system antenna (dish) to work. I need to know the receiver number to give more info.

Make sure its LEVEL and PLUMB, then move it to the desired azimuth and angle in very small increments. The fist few I did i wanted to jump off the roof but after doing a few and starting out LEVEL and PLUMB its a piece of cake.

If you don't have a matched receiver and dish it'll never work. Modern dish network receivers look at 2 satellites and require skew, elevation and azimuth. If you give me the receiver and dish models I can tell you if they're matched.
