Personal responsibility and tire pressure

Heavens to mercy! Barack Obama is actually saying that Americans should take the responsibility to air their tires up to correct pressure onna account of all the authorities who say that large amounts of petrol would be saved doing so.

I mean, dude, Americans value freedom of choice, and if they choose not to get their knees dirty airing up their tires just cause some green, green, lima beans seem to think it would be a good way to cut down on demand for imported oil, well sir, that's their God-given right.

Much better to just drill everywhere for the nearly infinite supply of petro that's just out there, waiting to be accessed if not for a bunch of limp wristed enviro-wussies.

I mean even NASCAR, is trying to say that airing up tires saves gas, and we all know what a bunch of elitists the NASCAR bigwigs are.

..........like that's ever going to happen.

............they buy $hitboxes with reckless abandon and must get to the next red light ASAP because the time at the red light doesn't count in the total trip time.

Hell........I wouldn't want to guess the amount of fuel that would be saved if the stupid SOB's would just take their fat feet off the GD brakes..........

Soon they'll write tickets to people for not having enough air in their tires; yet another revenue stream!

Some people are so clueless that they have made it a law for cars to have tire pressure sensors now.

this reminds me when i was a young dude and seeing president carter suggesting we all wear sweaters to conserve energy. i didnt think it was such a bad idea (impressionable kid, i was), but i later learned how that was one of the ridicule points that lead to his demise

.

What an arrogant man.

I mean he really want us to take responsibility for our own actions !
How dare he.

Well my corporate nannies have taken care of me really well so far
and all they want is every dime that I can pay them, and every ounce
of credit I have.

Next he will be wanting us to use those funny little fluorescent light thingies or something.

Who do these hippie elitists think they are !?

Next thing he will be suggesting we all lose weight and conserve energy by making our engines pull less.

Really? You make it sound as if Obama's tire inflation comment was out of the mainstream. He overstated the savings that would come from paying more attention to tire inflation, but his basic point is hard to dispute.

TheDon 08-06-2008 09:42 AM

I need to air up my tires too
