Brett Favre....thoughts?

Should he hang it up or roll on another year?.....

How about thought on the Packer organization pushing Favre off as it seems they have?

Kinda feels like a GM type of thing to do.....

A few weeks ago, Favre said that he wasn't looking to be treated differently than anyone else. My reaction is that he was doing exactly that. He came off as self-centered.

A lot of packer fans are all pissed off that he wants to come back ...especially since he wants to play someplace else. Its as if they think they own him and he's obligated to play there or not at all.

PHooey!

Personally I think he is a great player. If he wants to come back and play someplace where its warmer, more power to him.

I hope someone gives him a chance.

It must be really tough to give up the cheering crowds when a great athlete gets old.

I think in the end that is what brought Ali into the ring at such an advanced age. (Too bad that it hurt him so badly).

I don't wish permanent damage on anybody but at my age, forced retirement seems pretty immoral.

Do you think he's just like anybody else?

I myself am not a Packer fan and not necessarily a Brett Favre fan but I must acknowledge his accomplishments.
It is interesting that the GB management is putting him in a negative light.

I wonder how they will act after their NEW quarterback may lose or worse get hurt as he is NOT battle tested. I bet there will be a ton of fans calling for public hanging of the management and the newspapers will be asking if Green Bay should have traded their battle tested veteran to the Jets..

Considering how close they came last year and how good they played you would think they would make an attempt to keep him.
Especially with the low amount of talent in the quarterback pool.

I think if he goes with another team he's just going to be another Joe Montana, etc....

Maybe he should just retire or go into coaching.

Jets. He's at the NY Jets. Now the Jets need to trade him to the Vikings.

I agree with dc. The whole thing could have been handled better-by both sides. imo.
Can't see him getting the Jets past the Pats. Heard this AM that he ought to have 50% of the playbook down by opening day. He played well last year. But the few years before that, he wasn't exactly burning up the league.

Another Joe Montana? maybe. Or maybe George Blanda! Here's to 46 yr old NFL QB's

That's what, 11 plays? 22 if you count both sides.

Bingo. He's waffled on the issue and the team has suffered as it waited for him to decide to retire, then unretire, then un-unretire, then un-un-unretire again. Meantime, this Rogers kid has been wondering what his role will ultimately be. A team needs to commit early on and coalesce around their "leader." Brett comes off looking like a spoiled child, which is sad. I held him in high regard before he pulled all this crap; wish he'd just gone out on a high note.

He had a year left on his contract when he retired. GB was paying him $20M not to play the final year anywhere else. He has endorsements that are contingent on his playing that exceed $20M.

Any questions?
