I want this reel!

ZeeBaas, I think they are made in Stratford!:D I figured I was going to get myself a nice littler silver Van Staal as a graduation from college present. But than I found these! Seems the founder of Van Staal decided in typical OCD engineer fashion that Zebco wasn't doing a good enough job, and he could do better! Supposidly this is the best spinning reel ever made by anyone period, its built like a jet engine!:D IMHO Van Staal's still look better. I started talking to some guys at the tackle shop about them, and you would have thought I was talking about ordering an Enzo. These reels are not stocked, you order them, and they have lots of custom options. Drag range, type of retreive, etc. If the guys in Stratford when I get serious next spring I'm going to his shop.

With a truely eye watering price tag! They make Van Staal's look cheap!

More fun than a watch though!

Now the problem is a need an amazing rod to hang something like that from! Even a G Loomis just seems to fall a little short.

Still a Van Staal ain't exactly a Walmart special now!

The Zeebaas isn't as pretty IMHO. Certianly it represents a bastion of no holds engineering. Which is so rare these days, no accountants, or marketing idiots to homogenize it.

I'll take my Vom Hofe's,Alcedos and Penns,

Hatterasguy 08-07-2008 11:47 PM

Most of my saltwater reels are Penn Green's and 7's.

Actualy all my reels are Penn, except for the fly reels and one Shimano which was bought during a moment of weakness.:D

Penn makes crappy fly reels, don't know why they even bothered with that market.
