This behavior is by no means restricted to Jet Blue or any of the airlines.

Rent a car at a rate of $40. per day. When you finally pay the bill, it will be approximately $55. per day. The taxes and local fees push up the rental price by 30%.

Rent a hotel room. Arrive and find out that they'll take $10. per day for parking.........thank you very much. Oh, and want to use the 800 number to dial out..........that's only free for 30 minutes per day. Talk for one hour and fork over another $4.00 or so.

The new "fee based pricing structure" is getting ridiculous............you're a captured customer upon arrival and they can charge anything they want.

I do believe it's time that the FTC gets involved and forces these outfits to disclose all fees and charges in advance.

If the airlines are loosing money on each passenger, then they ought to raise the rates up front and quit trying to sneak this crap past the passengers. The last time I checked, air travel wasn't a constitutionally protected right, and it's not like any of the other airlines are getting their fuel for nothing.

Just wait for rumors of exploding PB&J sandwiches join the ones for explosive water so that TSA starts grabbing those too. Then they'll really stick it to the passenger.

What they ought to do from a position of integrity differs markedly on what they need to do to raise revenue.

When you shop for a ticket, you buy the one with the lowest price.........by definition. You'll never think about the added fees..........or assume that they are universally the same. So, the airline with the lowest "fare" and the highest fees will carry more passengers.

exploding passengers... forget it... you buy a ticket and TSA makes you sit as the plane takes off to make sure you don't explode.
