move over, chip and boyd
Chip Foose and Boyd Coddington, the bar is raised.
http://www.mat.fi/n_index.php?nav=gallery_view&gallery=project1929fordmodel-a.xml&g=13 It might not be rolling art but it takes hot rod engineering to a very high level. Sixto 87 300D |

That thing ROCKS! What's not to like? A very stock appearing Model A Ford sedan with a high revving rally tuned Ford Cosworth engine that makes more than 6 times the stock HP! I saw a feature in HotRod magazine about this car several months ago. The engine builder even came up with a gizmo that makes it misfire slightly at idle and low RPM so that it sounds like a stock Model A if you just putter around. Check out the video of this car here... make sure you turn up the volume!
http://www.mat.fi/n_index.php?nav=gallery_video&video=video_a_ford_fast_version.flv&g=13 Woops... I almost forgot my favorite thing on this car... check out the photo gallery from pic 110-125 or so. They machined up a set of billet aluminum wheels for it that would accept modern radial tires that after careful painting, look exactly like the stock wood spoked wheels. http://www.mat.fi/n_index.php?nav=gallery_view&gallery=project1929fordmodel-a.xml&g=13

I looked at the other projects they had going on, but the Model A was by far, the most ambitious!
Obviously, from looking at the pics containing the blueprints and then seeing the finished components attached to the vehicle, this shop can fabricate anything and everything they need! I could also appreciate the quality of their welding...including the aluminum pieces!
