123's in Alameda

I have been here since Sunday, and I see more 123's a day here than I do in a week in VA. Props to you Cali folks for taking care of your older Benz's. Shame I fly out Sunday, headed to New Orleans. Hope to see some there also.

Same goes for Austin, Tx.

I'm lucky to see one a week here in the flatlands as well.

If you think there are a lot of 123s here in CA, go visit Portland, OR. There it will seem like an innundation by comparison.

I see at least two or three each day, not including mine. Funny thing is that they're always diesel powered. Tons of w126's too, both gas and diesel.

There is a really nice 240 D I see once in a while in the neighborhood...non turbo manual transmission. Very minty condish for its age. I need to meet the owner one of these days.

I want to talk to all of the owners I see, but I think they'd think I was weird. I was at a flea market Thursday, and there was an older gent leaving in a gold 300D. I walked over hoping to strike up a conversation, but he was more interested in leaving. Oh well. I'll keep looking and drooling. I told my boss it's dangerous to send me to Cali on business because one of these times I'm not going to fly back, I'm going to buy one and drive it home. Not that I need another one, mind you.
