Scrap prices are down
Cleaned up the shop today... and went to the scrapyard...
steel (dirty light)- 360 lbs @ $.09 = $32 Aluminum Alloy - 130 lbs @ $.67 = $87 brass - 23 lbs @ $1.30 = $30 copper - 1 lb @ $2.35 = $2 $150 for 514 lbs, hope china puts it to good use. A few months ago there used to be trucks around the block waiting to weigh and dump, today, I was one of 2 trucks unloading. |

Scrap prices need to come down, and copper especially.
High scrap prices really help thieves, but don't help the rest of us so much. |

About a month ago, I put a ceiling fan out by the curb the night before trash pickup. The gf says to me "they won't take that". I told her: "Are you kidding me?. It'll be gone before the trash men get there." It was. ;) (I was glad he didn't leave the paddles behind!:D) |
