Even mixed dogs are better fitted to survive than pure breeds. Pure breeds are bred to do one thing in one situation well. They do not function well over a wide range of environment, or circumstance.
Cur (alloyed) dogs have the ability to adapt and change over a wide range. Look up the study that was done on garbage dump dogs around the world. They have adapted and modified by cross breeding to fit the environment. Pure breeds, like Hitler's Aryans, can not adapt and therefore survive. |
Civilizations are not dogs.

Nor are cultures. I for one am tried of "pressing one for English", seeing piles of "other language" DMV publications rotting on the floor and other evidence of our inability to define the culture and language of this country. And I'm a liberal.

Least we forget this land was not ours. We stole it from an indigenous peoples. We are all foreigners. How many generations ago did your family come over via a boat ??? .... Go read the plaque at the base of the statue of liberty !!! " Bring us your tired, your weak, your huddled masses " .... Compassion is the answer. Not ethnic cleansing. :jester: RichC . |

Forgive me for saying this but, this guy is a paine to me.
(sorry, I HAD to say it!:D) I'm an 11th generation American dating from 1630. I think almost 400 years qualifies me as a "native". (John, Ephraim, Hezekiah I, Hezekiah II, Hezekiah III (what were they thinking and yes there was a Hezekiah IV), Abner, John, Millard, John, Millard, and then me) I have no problem with migration as it is the natural course of humanity. We don't speak "English", we speak "American". |

Civilizations are social groups of humans just as packs, prides, and herds are social groups of animals. Basically, they all operate on the same social principles. This is why humans have social mores against inbreeding the same as a pride of lions or other higher order mammals have. This prevents a blood line from becoming too pure and brittle, like iron. Mixed blood lines, like an alloy, are much stronger.

I don't think the lineage is impressive but it is an extended time period in-country which is the point I was attempting to make. Education as in? Yale, Columbia, Oxford? I should imagine the first man to smelt carbon steel was rather low ranked on the "education" scale. Where would the Mayans rank on an "education" scale? |
