I remember being shocked at hearing several years ago that the "leaper" on the Jaguar was an option you had to pay (dearly) for. I thought that was rather tacky after what they charge for the cars to begin with. They should have just added it to the base cost and not said anymore about it.

Fashion is cyclic. FoMoCo dispensed with their hood ornaments for a few years in the late Sixties, but they sprang back a few years later, ditto GM. Don't be surprised if tires with non-black sidewall stripes make a resurgence someday.

I always thought the leaper looked like ****. Perhaps others complained and coerced Jaguar to offer it as an option.

Oh, I thought it looked okay, but was astounded to hear that it was an option priced somewhere around $200.00. I don't like it that much. Besides, I'd be afraid to own a Jaguar.

Jim, why must you insist on exploiting the Native Americans like that?

Me? ME? Why must you DC'ers (politicians, lobbyists, and all the rest of the in crown wanna-be'ers) insist on rooting for the Redskins, who used to be double dippers in the bigot bin...
Hail to the Redskins, Hail to the Chiefs......

Remember George Preston Marshall? Remember when the Redskins were America's "Southern" Team? IIRC, they were the last NFL team to integrate and were getting a lot of heat to do so.

Trivia: Who was the first Negro to play for the 'Skins?

btw I used to be a 'Skins fan back in the Jurgy to Bobby Mitchell days. George Allen: "The future is now baby!"

Yeah now if you have a hood ornament you're considered old school.

A friend of mine that lives in New Jersey told me that people constantly steal his Mercedes Star off the hood of his car. After replacing it twice, he said he'll get another one if he decides to sell it and put it on only when he shows it.

What would you do with a hood ornament if you didn't own the car?

Idiots!

I've always loved hood ornaments...especially on my MB. It just adds that extra touch of class.

Nobody has ever stolen mine, either...

They don't actually want the ornament...it's a matter of jealousy.

Wear it as a necklace- just a guess.
