What say you?

Okay, somebody E Mailed this to me this morning. Their political bent is Republican.

What do you think of these comments? I don't know whether tese comments are true or not. I find some of them hard to believe. What do you think?

INTERESTING DATA ON TAXES

This is something we should be aware of so we don't get blind-sided. This is really going to catch a lot of families off guard.

Proposed changes in taxes after 2008 General election:

CAPITAL GAINS TAX

MCCAIN
0% on home sales up to $500,000 per home (couples) McCain does not
propose any change in existing home sales income tax.

OBAMA
28% on profit from ALL home sales
How does this affect you?

If you sell your home and make a profit, you will pay 28% of your gain on taxes.

If you are heading toward retirement and would like to down-size your home or move into a retirement community, 28% of the money you make from your home will go to taxes. This proposal will adversely affect the elderly who are counting on the income from their homes as part of their retirement income.

DIVIDEND TAX

MCCAIN 15% (no change)

OBAMA 39.6%
How will this affect you?

If you have any money invested in stock market, IRA, mutual funds,
college funds, life insurance, retirement accounts, or anything that pays
or reinvests dividends, you will now be paying nearly 40% of the money
earned on taxes if Obama become president.

The experts predict that 'higher tax rates on dividends and capital gains
would crash the stock market yet do absolutely nothing to cut the deficit.

INCOME TAX

MCCAIN (no changes)
Single making 30K - tax $4,500
Single making 50K - tax $12,500
Single making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 60K- tax $9,000
Married making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 125K - tax $31,250

OBAMA
(reversion to pre-Bush tax cuts)
Single making 30K - tax $8,400
Single making 50K - tax $14,000
Single making 75K - tax $23,250
Married making 60K - tax $16,800
Married making 75K - tax $21,000
Married making 125K - tax $38,750

Under Obama your taxes will more than double!
How does this affect you? No explanation needed. This is pretty straight forward.

INHERITANCE TAX

MCCAIN 0% (No change, Bush repealed this tax)

OBAMA Restore the inheritance tax
How does this affect you? In the past, many families lost businesses, farms and ranches, and homes that were in their families for generations because they could not afford the inheritance tax.

Those willing their assets to loved ones will not only lose them to these taxes.

NEW TAXES BEING PROPOSED BY OBAMA

* New government taxes proposed on homes that are more than
2400 square feet

* New gasoline taxes (as if gas weren't high enough already)

* New taxes on natural resources consumption (heating gas, water, electricity)

* New taxes on retirement accounts and last but not least....

* New taxes to pay for socialized medicine so we can receive the same
level of medical care as third-world countries!!!

Well, in all fairness he'll have some pretty big bills to pay that were left by his predecessor. Taxation anything like this would really do the economy in.

Obama says he wants to increase taxes for successful responsible people that went to college and risked everything they owned to start their own businesses and were possibly successful. Yea... that sounds fair! Steal money from the people that actually worked hard for it, and lessen taxes for people that don't want to work hard for it. NOT!

Hey, if you don't want to go to college and work hard at a job, or risk everything and start your own buiseness and make alot of money, so be it... these hard working smart people shouldn't be punished by be taxed at a higher rate. Being responsible should be rewarded not punished.
Liberal thinking SUCKS!

I believe this was posted in an earlier thread, and it was pretty much refuted as "unofficial"...for either candidate.

I just hope whomever gets elected took Economics 101 at some point during their college days...

It's not true

That is misinformation that has been cicrling the web for a few weeks. I actually got suckered into sending it to some family and friends before realizing that its packed with lies.

You can find non-paritisan analysis of each candidates tax plan on the web. Obama's plan is a huge redistribution of wealth, but unless your agi is in excess of $250,000, you'll probably get a tax break.

McCain's plan also results in tax breaks for most TAX PAYERS. The biggest breaks go to wealthy individuals; smallest tax breaks go to the poor - who may need it more, but pay little or no tax.

Overall Obama's plan creates more revenue for the gov't, i.e. more taxes, though it'll be paid by the very wealthy. He also adds a bunch of tax credits and such that will likely add 1000's of pages to the tax code. None of his proposals help me personally, a middle class joe anyway you slice it.

I still personally favor McCain's tax plan as I believe that people should be encouraged to work hard for their passion and reap the rewards, and not be overly taxed for doing a good job and making lots of money. That said, Obama's plan would save me a couple hundred bucks over McCain's each year in tax.

So is Marx and Engels.

Pay less, get less. What is so bad about that? Why should I get more money than Bill Gates? He generates more money than I do.

So far, the govt has shown how they squandered it. Why should we give them more? So they can waste more?

Untrue:

I'd attach their preliminary Analsyis of each candidates 2008 tax plans, but it's too large.

Good reading. Should be required for all voters.

The truth is seldom very palatable in political contests. The right solutions to problems don't make for very good sound bites.

When I read this, I assumed it was not accurate, but had not actually taken the time to research it.
