Obama-Biden, not old crusty McCain and his Alaskan Soccer Mom.

I predict Obama et all by between 54 to 59%.

The election will come down to who independent voters will go for.

No matter how the GOP tries to dress up their front people, they cannot get around the legacy of nearly 8 years of unswerving incompetence by GWB. That is why the GOP couldn’t put a federal judge or prosecutor, a military general or admiral, or another member of congress, as just a few examples, as the VP choice. All traditional models of Republican strong points vividly recall failures and/or presumed corruption by GWB et al.

The American voting public has a poor memory but not that poor. Best the GOP can hope to do is to clutch at straws by putting a “fresh” yet obviously middle-aged face (a straw-woman) on a long track record of painfully damaging practices and hope that it is enough of a distraction that people will forget.

They (the GOP back office folk (at least)) likely realize there is little practical chance of success, and may hope that the land mine filled holes dug by GWB will be so intractable that in the next election cycle, they’ll blame everything on the Obama et all and start to work towards parity (or perhaps parody is a more suitable word). And the pendulum may start to swing back.

The worst tragedy of this election, imo, is that the great goals and longer legacies of the GOP - small government, less intrusion into the life of the public, smaller taxes, defense of the Constitution and human rights – as a few examples – have been tossed in the trash by GWB. It makes me wonder what do the party faithful hold on to?

At least Palin will become a senator in the near future, where she will do well.

Vegas should have the line set. It'll be a close one, I think w/McCain edging Obama, but it may not be a good bet. Depends on how it pays.

Winner: Nobody in this election!

We definitely need better candidates. Space Aliens (China is close enough) sounds good as long as they don't make us learn their language!

McCain definately picked a better looking running mate!

Come Tuesday in the booth those Hillary supporters will pull for Obama Biden though and that will be all she wrote.

Did anyone notice that during Bush's tape last night, he stated yet again that Iraq was behind the 9/11 attacks, after repeated investigations yielded no proof. While I support Obama, I sure as hell that McCain does not plan on using Iraq as something to garner support on, if so, I don't think it will be close.

Mrs Bush's speech was pathetic, seemed very rehearsed and lacked any type of emotion. I wonder if they were using those "applause" signs? If they didn't I can't see why anyone would clap at anything she said, besides parading her in-laws.

My buddy Rick emailed me today and asked if I would rather have Sarah or Hillary and I said "It depends on the definition of 'have' ".
