.

It will not have an effect.

Even McCain himself admitted that the effect would be mostly psychological at one of his town hall meetings.

Just because the oil is coming from here or there does not change the price.

Do you think any of the multinational oil companies will sell it cheaper because it came from here ??

It is becoming more and more obvious that McCain has become a puppet to big oil, and Palin is the link to drilling in Alaska...

Thank You

You like the rest of the glassy eyed Obama worshiping zealots missed the message. It wasn't about the price of oil/gas it was securing a domestic supply so we don't have to depend on nations who hate us to supply it. I'm sure you also missed the fact she specifically said there is a need for alternative energys also, solar, wind , geothermal, nuclear were all brought up. That is called an energy policy; domestic oil production along with alternative sources. Osamas policy: keep buying foreign oil and in 20 years have some solar panels planted here and there for show.

Drill !!!! Solar and wind is for pu$$ies !!! Didn't Miss Congeniality mention something about not letting hurricanes put us in a position to be dependent on foreign oil but we want to put more platforms out there in open waters ? Just a question. maybe I misheard her over all the cotton candy.....

Drill.. But put up a few windmills and solar panels as well. $hit you could fit a couple of hundred windmills right outside my door....

I think your religion/politics gets in the way of rational thought.

Drilling for oil will waste millions and millions of dollars.

That money will go straight into the hands of big oil.

And what will we have to show for it ??

More of the oil wells that you see all of the time that are not pumping.

Why are they not pumping ???

Why don't you research that for a little while and get back with me.

You might want to stop chanting, drill now, drill now, so you can think a little.

...

Meanwhile I will go work on my algae farm....

First of all I'm not religous, I'm just not a religous bigot. Second, drilling for oil is how you get access to it in order to pump it out of the ground. It does cost money to do this but I'm thinking there must be a profit in there somewhere. Do your own research, maybe start with the Bakken Formation and you get back to me. And an unmaintained pool isn't an algea farm, it's a mosquito breeding ground.

Another well thought out reply from someone who has no attention span. If you had been listening she promotes solar, wind, geothermal and nuclear. She is far sighted enough to know that no matter how much money we throw at the alternative sources we will still need oil. The more intelligent approach is to drill for domestic oil while we develop alternatives and reduce foreign dependence. By the way, here on the west coast where drilling is proposed (but will probably not happen) there are no hurricanes.
For all you Obamaites; you already had your narrow minds made up, why waste time with all the whining about the mean lady being sarcastic about your boy?

Forgive me oh omnipotent one for I am unintelligent and need your guidance but please, before you go making blanket statements:
1. If you look back at any of my posts, you would notice that I nail against all 4 candidates. I'm not an Obama boy nor a McCain boy. Read the last line of my sig. It speaks volumes of what I think about all politicians.
2. No plans on drilling anywhere other than the west coast ?
3. I've been saying for quite some time that alternatives HAVE TO BE addressed at the same time as drilling. Drilling, alone, before or after alternatives is no answer. Their stories and answers change with the wind. maybe I just shouldn't give a **** cuz I'll be long gone when we run out of oil.....

Please don't make me stay after school. I'll try to pay more attention to the thieves & liars. I promise...

I thought there was something like 3 months of oil there. Is there more than that? Anyway, my thought is since we need a strategic reserve, instead of buying expensive oil that has been pumped somwhere and then putting it back down in the strategic reserve, why not just call this field in Alaska the strategic reserve, since the oil is already there, and save a lot of time and money. Then we can stop putting more in the other strategic reserve. Done and done. Seems like a simple solution.

Hmmm, not a problem.

I will start the filter up early.

It's hard to keep any reserve.

My fuel is getting used as fast as I can process it.

Have Fun !

.

Watch the video again you missed a lot.

Hint, Hint "They don't grow the algae in a pool"

.

Your getting closer, now, what happens after we drill for oil and finally
find some ?

Does it get sold on the open market ??
Where everyone else sells it ?

Now, who is the competition for selling oil on an open market ?

Once you figure out the answer to that question, you know who owns
the oil market, and will always own the oil market.

There is absolutely no way any nation on this planet will ever be able to
compete with OPEC in the oil market.

Even if we could come up with enough oil to lower global prices, OPEC will just lower theirs a few cents.
Which means noting to them, remember what the OPEC acronym stand for ?

And we will have wasted millions and millions of dollars trying to compete,
in a game where we are doomed to failure from the beginning.

....

Now can you tell me why they still want to drill knowing all of this information ?

Thank You
RichC

What do you all think of that!
I agree. However we should continue to explore and implement solar, wind, hydro and nuclear (or is that nucular ) for our energy supply and bio, electric and fuel cell technology for our transportation needs. Domestic drilling may not effect pricing one red cent but the importance of weaning ourselves from foreign oil first and fossil fuels second shouldn't be discounted. $700B, often to countries not friendly towards us, could be better spent here.

Our biggest obstacle towards alternative energies at this point is each one has a lobbying group pushing for it, think Big Corn, instead of keeping everything on the table and developing a comprehensive plan.

T. Boone Picken's plan, ridiculed by some and pishawed (is that a word?) by others, seems to make a lot of sense to me.
