I pray that in 30 years "SexyBack" is not looked at in the same light as Hotel California

I'm sure 50 years ago people said the same thing about Hotel California being looked at in the same light as "All I Have To Do Is Dream".

One thing will remain constant. Kids (the majority of a generation) will always listen to music that was different from their parents. Parents will complain to their kids about the music and say 'What is wrong with the music I grew up listening to?" And then their kids will call them old and wonder why their parents are so 'uncool'.

Surprisingly, my kids have all liked music that I listened to when I was their age. I like a lot (certainly not ALL) of the music they listen to now.

Of course, I'm just very cool . . . . Really, my younger daughter's boyfriend told her I was cool, because I not only LIKED the Dead Milkmen, but I had seen them in concert.

Teenagers as we know it are a 20th century invention. Imagine a time before radio, cars and varied clothing. You would dress like your parents, listen to the same music as them and spend most of your time at home with the,.

So let me just shoot myself in the foot by saying
1985: Everybody Wants To Rule The World - Tears for Fears
1986: Sledgehammer - Peter Gabriel
1987: With Or Without You - U2

After those its been nothing but a downhill slope.....
