Windows Vista question

I am not that knowledgeable about computers, so bear with me. I have a new Dell laptop with Vista and I want to run a program that uses excel files. I guess I don't have Excel on the laptop because I can't open the program, but I use it on my desktop with no problem, which has Excel. So this may be a dumb question, but do I need to install Excel on the laptop?

I am pretty sure the desktop came with the software pre-installed, so I don't think I have the program disk. Is there any place I can "some what" legally get a copy of Excel?

Thanks

Peter

You can download an excel viewer from Microsoft or download open office at openoffice.org.

Hey, that fixed it!

Thanks!
