Passat CC

Did anybody here test drive the new Passat CC? Looks like a beautiful car, and relatively affordable too! Can't wait for my dealership to have one so I can see it in person!

Not a mercedes, for sure, but awd, a powerful v6, and distinctive looks at a VW price!

I think they're nice looking cars. Any word of a TDI in the pipeline?

So is it basically a loaded Passat?

No, it's Volkswagon's version of the Mercedes CLS. It's a completely different body style than the regular Passat.

With a re-styled roof line.

I haven't heard of any TDI CC's coming down the pipeline. I did hear we'll get a Rabbit TDI for 2010.

It's a new for 2009 passat with a different body style and 4 bucket seats.

As I said I think a C-class Mercedes is nicer but the cc was more in my price range and it' s nice to have a local dealership! Closest MB dealer is 300 km away!

I like it. I'm starting to like VW. Most everything about their line makes sense to me except for their lousy service departments. We have two VW's now and we like them. The '04 Passat is starting to shift weird but that's really about it.

I don't get along well with the people's car.

Everyone I own I end up wanting to smash with a big machine or put rounds through after a couple of months.

To be perfectly honest I'm a bit worried as I have heard many stories about VW's electrical gremlins and other problems.

But the latest passat scores well on JD Power's latest report.

I have owned two older ones and they have both leaked oil like crazy, the Jetta was freaken amazing but the Golf is doing a nice oil tanker impression to. Also the wiring is joke, I mean under the hood I can see exposed copper where they strip it to go into plugs... They have a ton of ground problems. You just can't park any VW thats over 6 or 7 years old on a nice driveway, all the leaks will ruin it.

My dads friend has a 2002 Beetle TDI that blew the motor at 60k because the dealer didn't change the engine mount bolt and it broke...causing the oil pan to crack and the engine to lose oil pressure.

My dads other friend had a 1999 Passat he just junked because everything was broke, it was a VR6 so you can't work on it, and the trans was slipping.

My cousins 2005 Jetta always has some electrical problem of some sort, and it rattles like crazy. She has owned it since new so it wasn't abused, only has like 50k on it to.

The VR6 is an abortion of a motor, its so tight you can't get to anything. Parts are also Porsche expensive.

There throw away cars, like most modern cars really. I would only lease a VW for 36 months, that way the dealer can fix it when it breaks, which it will.

Yeah mine had a bad ground at the turn signal and the LED display will sometimes not light up.
