I think the next US president should

be able to complete one sentence. Just one complete sentence without flying off on tangents.

So what do you want them to do? Answer the question directly?

While I happen to like McCain to an extent, I shudder to think what would happen if he died and had to be replaced by Palin.

She can wink her way all the way back to Alaska!

Yeah, and then when Fox News interviewed Romney, it ocurred to me again that Republicans chose the wrong man.

Since the debate was the only radio station I got for a long while last night while driving, I did listen in to a part of it. I did think that Obama sounded very good. All the right words were said on his part. If I were going on how they sound alone, I'd vote for McCain since I have a healthy distrust in anyone who sounds too good. In my life, when people sound too good (all the right words and all the nice answers), at some point, I get it up the ass with a red hot poker and they are holding it. Besides, Obama sounds too socialistic to me. Wants to get involved in too many things. Problem with that level of involvement is that it will come from the same bunch of clowns that gave us SSI problems, Fannie and Freddie, etc, etc. Those clowns can't even balance their own budget and I am to have faith in them handling complex issues?

HOWEVER, McCain has one flaw that I will not tolerate in a candidate I vote for. He forgives too easily. Something tells me that if he could, he'd have OBL & Co over as White House guests in the future if he could. So, my vote is going for the Communist unless he does something even worse.

If it were Palin alone, I'd vote for her in a heartbeat.

The GOP viewed this election as the Dems to lose and threw McCain a bone since this would be his last shot. The fact that he's not dead and buried, in the figurative sense , is a surprise to many.

How so? Why would the GOP do something so charitable? I think he is their best shot.

But Jen, who do you want to run for President? Common, working people? That rules out every career politician! (Which is fine by me.)

With the world and economy $h!tstorm and anti-Bush sentiment I'm not sure they view it as charitable. Sacrificial lamb comes to mind.

She wants the best possible people to run and the best of the lot to win. Very nice ideal. Unfortunately such people are NOT in the realm of politics. They are doing other more profitable things. Would Warren Buffet or Bill Gates run? No. Why? They achieve more with less problems in their world.

I don't think the Republicans have a chance in this election. If a dyed in the wool Republican like me is seriously thinking of voting for Obama, what about all those people who are usually just "on the fence?"

My money is on the Dems this time.
