Today I Am No Longer a Teenager

Well last night was the last day of being a teenage for today I am 20 years of age. I really have no idea as to what I will be doing today, for one my parents are out of town. I think that I might go to Disneyland with some friends. So today is my birthday and I am very happy, just one question to all. What did or what where you professionally at the age of 20.

I drove a rusty '76 Malibu (boat), was attending community college (after two years at a state college), and I think I was working for a hospital supply company.

The guy with the loudest stereo back then, had a van, and two RadioShack Mach1 speakers. Subs hadn't become popular back then, and CD's were just introduced 2 years before.

Happy Birthday Boom!

When I was 20, I graduated from college with an associate's degree in commercial art and advertising and was laying out telephone directory ads. That first year was the hardest of my career. 2 years later I was making triple the money and worked in the printing industry as a designer. The first 8 to 10 years saw the most financial growth. Switching jobs every few years ensured big advances. Stay focused and good things will happen.

At 37 I now take care of my kids as a SAHD and work when I need extra money or if a cool project presents itself.

Happy Birthday! Enjoy your young life!

At 20 I was playing in a local Columbus, Ohio rock band. I drove a 1971 Ford Maverick with a 60w stereo with Jensen triax speakers. (this was actually before ANYONE had a thumpin' car stereo!)

I was in my 2nd year at Ohio State with an undeclared major and working for the university book store making $3.35/hr doing maintenance and whatever else they wanted me to do.

At 20, I was just beginning my career at an AM radio station. FM was just a "Fad" at the time.

At 20 I had two Mercedes, now I'm down to one! WTF!

I have a bad habit of working on my birthdays. I can't remember the last one I took off and did something.

Back in 1975 I turned 20. I was still pretty wild. I drove a hot rodded '57 Chevy with a 327/325 that came out of a '63 Impala. Added some headers, an aluminum high rise intake, Holly 650, bigger cam, and tweaked the distributer a bit. A Muncie 4 speed & 12" 'Vette clutch guarenteed I could blow out the rear end if I got too sqirrelly.
I was BAD Ass!
I also bought my first ever NEW car. A 1975 Monza Fastback with a V8 & 4 speed. Did I mention I was hot ****sz?.
I was dating the woman who would become my wife 5 years later. (And still is)
I was working for the company I now own.
I was probably earning about $5.00 or $6.00 per hour.
Life was great.
A case of beer was like $10.00
A nickel bag had inflated to about $10.00
Gas was way under a buck per gallon.
The emmision control on new cars consisted of a smog pump & catalytic converter, both of which were easily removed.
Cops would pull up into the dead end street partying spot and advice us to "move on son" without so much as caring about what we were smoking & drinking.
Free sex was, well, free!
End of story.
