Any interesting races, referendum or other ballot issues in your neck of the woods?

- Way out here, mass transit dominates the mayoral campaign for Honolulu. Incumbent is the proponent for light rail, while his challenger has just come up with a plan to add a second deck to highways for buses and carpool.

- The other issues is whether the state should spend money to hold a "Constitutional Convention" to select future ballot issues which would change the state constitution.

Michigan getting Maryjowanna this year. It should pass with flying colors.

Well here in AZ there's a big push to unify all the School districts. State wants one giant beaurocracy and they are pushing it like crazy. All the old fools who think they'll save a few buck's in taxes are going to vote for it. No wonder AZ ranks about 48th in education. I think it'll pass which means I'll likely be out of a job in a year or so so. Other than that nothing really major that I'm aware of.

Maricopa County has the Sherrif Joe showdown. AZ has a ban on same sex marriage too.

Ah yes. I'd forgotten about that. I'll be voting against the ban on same sex marriage but not sure about Sherriff Joe. As I've said before Joe's entertainment value is off the charts.
