Russian air freighters

Looks like they are going to start building the An-124 again and the 2nd AN-225 is slated to fly very soon. Russian transports make the U.S ones look like toys. I ran across this Canadian article which made for some very interesting comparisons. Theres a An124 that lands at Bradley occasionally. I think it transports components for Sikorsky.

Is this enough carrying capacity for you Hatt?

But the An124 can fly higher than 70 feet and has more than 1 mile range.

Looks like the front end of a 747 with camo and a cheese grater on the front.

I think the Russians always had some of the most impressive looking military hardware. I remember I liked those helicopter-planes they used in Afghanistan. Those things and these transport planes are just huge.

not to get too picky, but Antonov is a Ukrainian company. Ukrainians hate being called Russians. At least the real Ukrainians, not all the former Russians that Stalin moved there.

No no, not being picky that's a valid point and my mistake. Here, i'll through an Ilyushin into the mix to address the balance. It should be noted that this model carries more ramp cargo then any other transport on the planet.

Nice. Here's a couple more shots. Note the mini-gun on the wing.

Holy crap that thing is huge. The Spruce Goose was actually bigger?!?

Just the size and number of the tires on the Russki is telling.
