I think it was in Ralph Nader's "Unsafe At Any Speed" that it was mentioned that NYPD horses actually got impaled on those Cadillac fins.

Here's a scroll-away picture page for '59 Cadillac lovers:

Personally, I prefer the '59 Flat Top Sedan, also known as the 4-window sedan, over any other '59 Cadillac sedan.

any of the 59 flat tops are sweet cars.that wraparound back window is a work of art.

Meretricious tripe..If I had my druthers I'd take a '59 Facel Vega with a Mopar Hemi and Pont a Mousson 4 speed.

IMHO, Cadillac peaked in 1966: http://www.car-nection.com/yann/Dbas_txt/Phocad66.htm

Years ago I had a 1965 Coupe de Ville. AFAIK, the main difference between the 65 and 66 model is the in the way the bumper turns around the front corners of the body. They are both nice, but the 66 is a cleaner design.

The best thing about the mid-60s Caddies is the interior. Nicest I've ever seen.

aaahhhh My favorite- I used to drive around in grade school with my friend Gina in one her mom had it and it was great!

I love the fins! Fortunately Caddy adopted virtually none of the styling cues of the hideous proto. Except maybe the windshield through the b-pillar.

These are all great pics of the timeless beuty cars. This was back in the day when Cadillac was great.

My dad has a Cadillac. 1924, not exactly road worthy. but its pretty.
My mom and dad where restoring it when i was a kid. but sadly, they got devoiced and the car got put into storage.
here are some pictures I took a month ago when I went to visit my dad.

they rebuilt the engine. it has an all aluminum V8. its a very pretty engine. even though it makes like 40HP.

Actually only the crankcase is aluminum/bronze alloy as was common at the time, the right and left cylinder blocks are cast iron. The engine develops about 70-80bhp.

If he has no intention to complete it kindly PM me if he would consider parting with it as I love projects.
