3M windshield adhesive... I win

fwabam! I managed to get the stupid glass out of the car. It took me like 5 hours of playing with the cold knife. The cold knife or w/e its called

worked pretty well when the weather was warm and didn't involve corners or slight corners. So it only removed the adhesive on the top and bottom. The corners I had to use like a steak knife and box cutter.

Word of caution.. when using the cold knife wrap it in tape or wear gloves. The box mine came in didnt warn me. Why? the edges where the screws are and the slit for the blade are razor sharp for some odd reason. So after 15 minutes of going at it my left hand was dripping blood and red all over. I was like wtf.

But I got the glass out with having to pick up tiny shards.

Now I just need to clean the crud off of the glass. Tips? what chemical to use. hehe

$180+ an ungodly amount for shipping saved.

And a lil bit of blood along the way to remind one of ones place in the cosmos.

My car's "backlight" was shattered by some idiot trying to remove a bracket that is like 1/4" away from the glass.

So the parts car we bought had good glass. Easy button, done.

Rear glass from Delorean is $175 plus shipping. I could drive 3.5 hours to Bonita Springs and pick up the glass but thats 3.5 hours of my life and fuel wasted.

I've gotten a good amount of parts off of the carcass we bought. A wiring harness that is for the doors( retail price, $205) and the rear glass, ($175)... Mind you I paid next to nothing for the empty shell of a car and have already broken even on it. Win Win for me

next job on the list... get the stupid passenger side door aligned
